You will need at least a Java 1.3 plugin, preferrably 1.4 (The default 1.1 plugin in Internet Explorer is not sufficient). Because this applet accesses the soundcard, you need to set security permissions to allow it to do this. Save the file .java.policy to your home directory (or copy the contents into your existing file, if you have one). (NB On W2000 and XP your home directory is 'Documents and Settings\username' and on W95, 98, ME it's just C:\).
 
You need a Java 1.3 (or higher) plugin to run this applet. You can get the latest Java plugin here.
 

Click on the on/off button in the top right to start the program working. You will need to use your computer's mixer to select the input source (microphone or line) and adjust the input volume. You will need a reasonably fast computer.
